# Local Events

The Local Events tab in the Strategy Room helps you discover events happening near your business that you can leverage for marketing, promotions, and community engagement.

## How Events Are Found

Storescribe discovers local events based on:

* Your business address and surrounding area
* Your industry and business category
* Community calendars and event sources

## Viewing Events

### Event Cards

Each event is displayed as a card showing:

* **Date** - When the event takes place
* **Title** - The event name
* **Description** - Details about the event
* **Location** - Where it's happening

### Time Filters

Use the filter chips at the top to narrow down events by timeframe:

| Filter       | Shows                      |
| ------------ | -------------------------- |
| All          | Every upcoming event       |
| This Week | Events in the next 7 days |
| Next 2 Weeks | Events in the next 14 days |
| This Month | Events this calendar month |

### View Modes

Switch between:

* **Grid view** - Visual card layout
* **List view** - Compact list format

## Generating Event Strategies

This is one of the Strategy Room's most powerful features. For any event:

1. Find an event relevant to your business
2. Click **Generate Strategy**
3. AI creates a tailored marketing strategy including:
   * Content ideas related to the event
   * Promotional angles
   * Timing recommendations
   * Social media post suggestions

The generated strategy appears in the **Strategies** tab and can be referenced later.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Example:** A local restaurant sees a community festival happening next weekend. They generate a strategy that suggests a special festival menu, social media posts counting down to the event, and a promotion for festival-goers.
{% endhint %}

## Past Events

Below the upcoming events, you can expand the **Past Events** section to see events that have already occurred. This is useful for:

* Reviewing strategies you created for past events
* Identifying recurring annual events to plan for next year
* Tracking which event-based strategies you've used

## Acting on Event Intelligence

### Weekly Event Review

Each week:

1. Check the **This Week** filter for immediate opportunities
2. Check **Next 2 Weeks** for events to plan around
3. Generate strategies for the most relevant events
4. Create or approve content tied to those events

### Seasonal Planning

{% hint style="success" %}
**Plan ahead.** Check events for the current month and think about how your business can participate or piggyback on local activity.
{% endhint %}

### Community Connection

Events are a natural way to connect with your community:

* Mention local events in your social posts
* Offer event-related promotions
* Show you're an active community member
