# Creating Your Account

Getting started with Storescribe takes just a few minutes. Here's everything you need to know about creating and verifying your account.

## Sign Up Process

### Step 1: Visit the Sign Up Page

Go to [app.storescribe.ai](https://app.storescribe.ai). You'll see a sign-in page with options to sign in or create a new account.

### Step 2: Switch to Sign Up

Click **Sign Up** to switch to the account creation form.

### Step 3: Enter Your Details

You'll need to provide:

* **Email Address** - Use an email you check regularly
* **Password** - Must be at least 8 characters (a strength indicator shows how strong your password is)

**Choose a strong password:** The password strength indicator will guide you. Include a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols for better security.

### Step 4: Verify Your Email

After signing up, you'll receive a verification email:

1. Check your inbox for an email from Storescribe
2. Click the verification link in the email
3. You'll be redirected back to Storescribe

**Don't see the email?** Check your spam/junk folder. If it's not there, click "Resend verification email" on the login page.

### Step 5: Complete Onboarding

Once verified, you'll go through the onboarding flow:

1. **Business Profile** - Enter your business name, address, category, and website
2. **Guided Tour** - A walkthrough of Storescribe's key features
3. **Data Setup** - Storescribe begins gathering data for your business (this runs in the background)

## Free Trial

Your account includes a **7-day free trial** with full access to all features:

* No credit card required to start
* Full access to competitor tracking (up to 5 competitors)
* AI-generated daily content
* All strategy and audit features
* Daily Brief email

After your trial, choose from three subscription plans to continue using Storescribe.

## Troubleshooting

### I'm not receiving the verification email

1. Wait a few minutes - emails can sometimes be delayed
2. Check your spam/junk folder
3. Make sure you entered your email correctly
4. Try resending the verification email
5. [Contact support](/docs/contact.md) if you're still having issues

### I forgot my password

1. Go to the login page
2. Click **Forgot Password**
3. Enter your email address
4. Check your email for a reset link
5. Create a new password

### The verification link isn't working

Verification links expire after 24 hours. If your link has expired:

1. Go to the login page
2. Try to sign in with your email
3. You'll see an option to resend the verification email
