# Managing Your Profile

Your profile contains your personal account information. Here's how to view and update it.

## Accessing Your Profile

1. Click **Settings** in the sidebar
2. Select **Profile**

Or click your name in the bottom of the sidebar and select **Profile**.

## Personal Information

### Avatar

You can upload a profile photo:

1. Click on your current avatar or the placeholder
2. Upload a new image
3. To remove it, click the delete option on your avatar

Your avatar appears in the sidebar footer and throughout the app.

### Full Name

1. Edit the **Full Name** field
2. Click **Save**

Your name appears in:

* Dashboard greeting ("Good morning, \[Name]!")
* Sidebar footer
* Email communications

### Timezone

Select your timezone from the dropdown. This affects:

* When your Daily Brief email is delivered
* Content scheduling times
* Event display times

### Account Type

A read-only badge shows your current account type (e.g., Trial, Standard, Plus, Pro). To change your plan, go to **Settings** > **Billing**.

## Security

### Changing Your Email Address

**Important:** Your email is your login. Changing it affects how you sign in.

To change your email:

1. Go to **Settings** > **Profile**
2. Update the **Email** field
3. A confirmation dialog will appear
4. Confirm the change
5. Verify the new email address via the link sent to it

### Changing Your Password

1. Go to **Settings** > **Profile**
2. Scroll to the Security section
3. Enter your **current password**
4. Enter your **new password** (minimum 8 characters)
5. The password strength indicator shows how strong your new password is
6. Click **Save**

### Password Requirements

Your password should:

* Be at least 8 characters long
* The strength indicator shows: weak, fair, good, strong

**Tip:** Use a password manager to generate and store strong passwords.

### Forgot Your Password?

If you can't remember your password:

1. Go to the login page
2. Click **Forgot Password**
3. Enter your email address
4. Check your email for a reset link
5. Create a new password

## Account Deletion

To delete your account:

1. [Contact support](/docs/contact.md)
2. Request account deletion
3. We'll verify your identity
4. Account will be permanently deleted
